Daily Scripture #2

Tuesday, November 3
If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit.—Gal. 5:25.

Walking by holy spirit prevents us from succumbing to apostasy. But only by remaining spiritually vigilant can we continue to enjoy Jehovah’s undeserved kindness and “go on walking in the truth.” (3 John 3, 4) Let us therefore be determined to reject all apostasy so that we can maintain a strong relationship with our heavenly Father. Paul listed apostate idolatry and sects among such “works of the flesh” as fornication and loose conduct. But he explained: “Those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires.” (Gal. 5:19-21, 24) What qualities does God’s active force produce in those who live and walk by spirit? “The fruitage of the spirit,” wrote Paul, “is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control.”—Gal. 5:22, 23. w07 7/15 2:5, 6

My 2 cents:
I'm sure none of us here would become apostates anytime soon. However, it wouldn't hurt to fortify our spirituality so that no false teachings or ideas could ever shake the foundations of our faith. I've also noticed that apostate teachings can be introduced to us in subtle forms. It's made its way into the media and Hollywood and presented to us in a form of entertainment. If we're not careful, those ideas could wedge its way into our minds without our noticing. That is why we should always live and walk by spirit in order guard our "spiritual fortresses", so to speak. Only one solution comes to mind: personal study and prayer. One of the easiest, yet hardest things to do (IMO) haha. =D

Here We Go Again~

To whom this may concern,

Boy, it has been decades since I've written a blog! Brings back memories of the good o'l Xanga days. Originally, I had no intentions of starting another one for I wanted to spend my free time (that I now have from quitting facebook =D) on pursuing productive endeavors. Learn a new skill, hobby, instrument! Focus more time on personal study, studying for school, or just using the extra time to get some well-deserved sleep! Whatever the reason, I did not want to waste my time once more on these social interaction websites.............................................................

But I am a sucker to peer pressure. So here I am, typing away about trivial happenings of my life, revealing my thoughts, emotions, and other personal agenda, that, otherwise should be kept to myself. But not all is lost! As I was typing this entry, a brilliant idea came to mind (well, we'll just see how brilliant this actually is.... or how long I can keep up this brilliant idea). Why not use this blog as a means of doing something productive! Something that would not only benefit me, but would also have the potential to benefit those who read my posts??

And it was decided. I'm going to post the daily scripture every day and just write about it. Anything that comes to mind. I might talk about it in Korean sometimes for the sake of improving upon my Korean skills as well. And not just limited to daily text, but anything spiritual that's worth talking about. By doing so, I hope to get the gears of meditation rolling and also receive spiritual encouragement from other's input. That's where you guys come in. In order for this to work most efficiently, your thoughts on the matter is of utmost importance. Of course, if you don't feel like contributing, that's fine too. In that case, I will consider this my own little project at an attempt to be productive, and to make myself a better person in some aspect, no matter how little difference it may make. For those of you who decide to occasionally chip in to Kevin's little project, know that I value each and every one of your input. So, with that said, let the show begin with the 1st daily scripture of this blog!

Monday, November 2

I heard, but I could not understand.—Dan. 12:8.

After Armageddon, multitudes of unrighteous resurrected ones will need instruction in Jehovah’s ways. (Acts 24:15) They will need to learn about Jesus’ ransom sacrifice; more than that, they must be taught to exercise faith in that sacrifice in order to receive its benefits. They will need to reject previously held false religious ideas and to abandon their former way of life. They must learn to put on the new personality that identifies true Christians. (Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:9, 10) Faithful servants of Jehovah who died prior to Jesus’ earthly ministry will also have much to learn at that time. They will learn the identity of the promised Messiah, whom they longed for but never got to see. Imagine what a joy and privilege it will be to help them—for example, to explain to Daniel the fulfillment of the prophecies he wrote down but did not understand!—Dan. 12:9. w08 1/15 5:13, 14
